Pakistani Cabinet Press Release

The Pakistani government is deeply concerned with the terrorist actions operating in the India-Pakistan area. The ongoing conflict and recent unrest in Jammu and Kashmir is a testament to the desire of the Kashmir people to be self-determined, and Pakistan supports their rights. India’s recent sending of oppressive troops into the Kashmir region will only further destabilize the region. Our cabinet believes that now more than ever it is imperative that the border region is stabilized by following through with the referendum passed by the Security Council in 1949. The Pakistani government also supports the proposed solution of many states to undertake Indian de-militarization of the Jammu-Kashmir region immediately, in order to stabilize it.
