The People’s Republic of China is pleased with the recent passage of UNSC/Res/1/1, which we sponsored, and relieved by the international community’s efforts to avoid conflict. We declare that we will be in full compliance with this resolution and as a result will be withdrawing our air force assets from the Kashmir region. We also condemn the hostilities between Pakistan and India especially the actions taken by India’s rogue general and urge all parties to also comply with this resolution.

Statement from the Commander of the Second Artillery Corps:

China struck the rogue General Singh’s air-forces and radar in an attempt to prevent further escalation of aggression against Pakistan and a brutal crackdown on the local Kashmiri people, who have already begun an insurrection because of his presence.

Statement from the President of Pakistan

"It grieves me so to be issuing this statement. Pakistan has declared war against India in response to military aggression by India against the people of Pakistan. We will continue this righteous fight until the people of Kashmir are given the right of self-determination to decide their fate. We recognize that the Kashmir region is 70% Muslim, and that majority should be given the right to end a military occupation by India and come back to their fathers and brothers in Pakistan. We grieve for the atrocities committed against them by the Indian military. We pray for a swift end to this conflict, for the self-determination of Kashmir, and the souls of the righteous dead Pakistani forces fighting for the most holy causes - religious freedom. Furthermore, we commend the assistance of China in this military action, and look forward to working with them more closely in economic, military, and humanitarian issues."

Statement from the Government of Pakistan

The government of Pakistan finds it essentially to protect Muslim populations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan does not feel that this was a preemptive strike. It is the result of India militarizing the India-
Pakistani border since earlier, rouge terrorist attacks and has since been disrupting the Islamic presence
in the region. India dispatching large numbers of troops to the borders of its neighbors, unprovoked, is
a direct national security threat to Pakistan and its economic and diplomatic partner, China. For this reason and for the history of oppression perpetrated by them we official declare war on the Republic of India.

Statement from the Government of India

As our father M. Ghandi indicated “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Nevertheless, the protection of our citizens is of paramount important”. The President of Pakistan has on this day effectively declared war on India. It is with a heavy heart that I have called upon our people to do the same.

From this time moment we are in a state of war with Pakistan.

Dogfight Over Kashmir

The Pakistani airforce strike against Indian forces seems to have been thwarted by the Indian airforce response. Taken by surprise by the initial attack, Indian ground forces along the Line of Actual Control suffered substantial casualties, but after India’s quick mobilization of their airforce in response, India’s superior air technology was able to quickly quell the tide of the assault. Reports of Indian interceptors swiftly dispatching the Pakistani planes ended the air assault within an hour of its beginning. For now the Pakistani airforce has ceased  attack, but considerable damage has been done.

The Chairman of State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council is highly concerned by the standard of living and economic development of residents in Tibet. Having considered the geographic and topographic features, therefore block of economic development due to lacking of accessibility with other parts of People’s Republic of China. Bearing in mind, communication and transportation are the basic steps to be achieved in order to start investments and initiate business for economical improvement. We suggest to build mountain tunnels through Mount Himalaya to enable better information transmission and to recruit commercial investment from the east coast of China.

The Chinese Minister of Water Resources encourages adopting a couple of plans to provide development aid in Tibet. Further development of the Hydro-power energy in Tibet, as one of the major producers of such energy, is greatly encouraged. We also would like to kindly remind of the importance of the South-North Water Transfer Project in supplying the Northern parts of China with water and urge the importance of developing it furthermore.

Global Times [EDITORIAL]

Global Times [EDITORIAL]

In the last few days, India has dispatched hundreds of thousands of troops to its border with China and Pakistan, the scene of enduring territorial disputes between the three countries.

India said the move was intended to “meet future security challenges” while Prime Minister Manmohan Singh claimed, despite cooperative India-China relations, his government would make no concessions to China on territorial disputes.

The tough posture Singh’s new government has taken may win some applause among India’s domestic nationalists. But it is dangerous if it is based on a false anticipation that China will cave in.

India has long held contradictory views on China. Another big Asian country, India is frustrated that China’s rise has captured much of the world’s attention. Proud of its “advanced political system,” India feels superior to China. However, it faces a disappointing domestic situation which is unstable compared with China’s.

India likes to brag about its sustainable development, but worries that it is being left behind by China. China is seen in India as both a potential threat and a competitor to surpass.
But India can’t actually compete with China in a number of areas, like international influence, overall national power and economic scale. India apparently has not yet realized this.

Indian politicians these days seem to think their country would be doing China a huge favor simply by not joining the “ring around China” established by the US and Japan.

India’s growing power would have a significant impact on the balance of this equation, which has led India to think that fear and gratitude for its restraint will cause China to defer to it on territorial disputes.

But this is wishful thinking, as China won’t make any compromises in its border disputes with India. And while China wishes to coexist peacefully with India, this desire isn’t born out of fear.
India’s current course can only lead to a rivalry between the two countries. India needs
to consider whether or not it can afford the consequences of a potential confrontation with China. It should also be asking itself why it hasn’t forged the stable and friendly relationship with China that China enjoys with many of India’s neighbors, like Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Any aggressive moves will certainly not aid the development of good relations with China. India should examine its attitude and preconceptions; it will need to adjust if it hopes to cooperate with China and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.

Economic analysts are skeptical that Pakistan’s economy will be able to sustain repeated attacks on India or further escalated violence.

Civil Unrest in India

The Indian people are in an uproar in regards to the Indian President recent implementation of a state of emergency. News sources report that throughout the country, local communities are speaking out against this directive. Large protest groups have been sighted in Mumbai, Delhi, Pondicherry, and Calcutta. Civilian outcry against the recent state of emergency, particularly the militarization of all water and food supplies, is growing exponentially.
State government officials, especially in South India, in an act of defiance are criticizing the rash actions of the Indian Cabinet. “The conflict is in Kashmir. The fighting should stay in Kashmir. How is depriving India’s entire population food and water going to help to protect this great nation?,” speculated a minister of the southern state of Tamil Naidu.

While protests have not taken a violent turn, authorities are monitoring the situation. The current state of events are reminiscent of the state of emergency instated by then President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, under the influence of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, from 1975-1977. During which time, the Prime Minister ordered an attack upon the Sikh's holy Golden Temple. Shortly thereafter, Prime Minister Gandhi was assassinated by her two Sikh body guards.
