Statement from the Government of China
The recent ouster of the former Police Chief of Lhasa by the Ministry of Public Security was in response to findings from an internal investigation that showed the attempted poisonings of Tenzin Gyatso were perpetrated by him. The former Police Chief was attempting an aggressive power grab within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Corrupt actions by rogue Chinese officials are not tolerated in the People’s Republic of China and his punishment is according to policy. The Chinese government wishes for a peaceful conclusion to protests by Chinese ethnic-Tibetans in Lhasa.
